Persephone

Blood-red droplets drip down my lips and stain my fingers.

An ode to naivete.

Demeter's mercurial moods; is it a mother's grief at the loss of innocence or is it grief at the loss of control?

The flowers wither.

Is it rapture or seduction?

Blood-stained sheets.

Naiveté withered and replaced by a snow cold power.

They wanted an untouched woman, so she became untouchable.

A butterfly made of steel.

Blood-red smile and bittersweet memories.

There are flowers that bloom in darkness and are watered by moonlight.

A soft-beauty only to those initiated.

Do not speak her name.

Chthonic and ethereal to rule over damnation.

The Dread Persephone; Goddess of Spring and Death.
